Shortlist announced for 2025

Discover this year’s Stephen Lawrence Prize shortlist, awarded to a project led by an early career architect - aimed at celebrating new architectural talent

RIBA announces the six projects shortlisted for the Stephen Lawrence Prize 2025. The annual award, now in its 27th year, exclusively recognises projects lead by young talent. It was established in memory of Stephen Lawrence, a teenager and aspiring architect, who was the victim of a fatal racially motivated attack in 1993.

With themes of history and heritage revival, community inclusivity, social benevolence and ecological responsibility, this year's shortlist highlights the brilliant work of early career architects placing humanity, culture and emotional integrity at the heart of their projects.

Winners will be announced live at the Stirling Prize ceremony on 16 October at the Roundhouse, London. Everyone is welcome whether shortlisted or not.
